It was a cold, rainy day in London for the flotilla of boats celebrating the Jubilee, but clearly everyone from the Queen on her barge to the million people on the banks of the Thames enjoyed themselves immensely.

As for me, I stayed dry in the home of my aunt and uncle, bringing with me a “pavlova”–a meringue loaded with whipped double cream and fresh strawberries. The perfect complement to a gorgeous display of pageantry.
